Cowboy Action Shooting is multifaceted shooting sport in which
contestants compete with firearms typical of those used in the taming
of the Old West.
Single action revolvers,lever action rifles and double barreled
side-by-side, pump or lever action shotguns are used.
Contestants shoot several courses of fire in which they engage steel
targets. Scoring is based on accuracy and speed. Timers and spotters
are used.
One unique aspect of Cowboy Action Shooting is the requirement of
dressing western. (Please dress like a Cowboy or Cowgirl).
Some come to win, some come to relax, and some come to relive their
youth playing cowboy. No matter what reason they come, they all
have fun.
